Founder, owner, designer, craftsman, husband, father, runner, gardener, winemaker, photographer, sailor, boat-builder, community supporter – Andy wears a heap o’ hats! He began woodworking as a hobby shortly after graduating from Ithaca College, and it soon became a passion and a profession.

After a decade-plus of commercial woodworking in several venues, Andy founded Foster Custom Kitchens in 1987. Ten years later, he bought the Queen Anne house that is now our charming-if slightly quirky-showroom.

Now, Andy happily spends his days working closely with colleagues he admires and respects-the team of Foster Custom Kitchens/Foster Custom Woodworks.

John Fry

Most days, John can be found at his computer, creating auto CAD floor plans, elevations, and 3D designs. Research into building materials and architectural features figures into his work, too. John came to Foster in 2004, after working for an architectural firm. John is proud to represent Foster Custom Kitchens on the Ithaca Green Building Alliance.

Working with Andy and Foster Custom Kitchens was a pleasure. There were dozens of little details that in the end made the difference between a nice kitchen and one I smile every time I go into.
